Naruto D20 - Vesuvian Isles
(Squad B-3) Yoma Saishi
The Village Son
Yoma has always been a little different from other people, namely because of his hair and eyes. He’s never let that bother him though, for the most part people’s trepidation with his appearance melt away once they get to know him. He’s been living with his uncle and little cousin his whole life. Yoma never knew his birth parents but his uncle tells him that his mother was a priest and his father died in the war. The lack of birth parents never really bothered Yoma because he never really met them to miss them, even if his uncle is a worthless lay-about who makes his daughter do all the housework.
He inherited his mother’s bloodline abilities from her; the Shinku. She belonged to an order of spirit callers who had the power to bind spirits into masks of sacred wood and even see/touch them. Yoma typically tries to sharpen these talents when no one is around. He is especially careful to not hurt the mask he inherited from his mother. It has the power to grant him the raiton affinity, as the member of his clan are born without elemental affinities.
Yoma has always been a curious child, and often found himself wandering around the village helping some of the townsfolk. Most of them have come to see Yoma as their own son and most of the villagers find themselves rooting for his success. He’s currently working part-time on the weekends for the Hideyoshi family running the counter of their store and doing odd jobs on the side when he has time. Yoma thrives when he is around other people and strives to make an many people happy as he can.
He also has a keen eye for the Ninja arts, although he entered much younger than most of the students he still manages to be in the upper end of the class ranking at the Ninja Academy despite only being 9 years old. A few of the other students like to poke fun at him for his hair, eyes, or age but his talent as a shin obi is inarguable.
When he has time his uncle trains him in the arts of the pressure points style. Yoma’s uncle Okami was apparently some big shot ninja in his day but he was dishonorably discharged from the military after insulting a superior officer.
Yoma’s younger cousin Momo does most of the house work and is as sweet as they come. Yoma always feels better when she is around, but often chastises his uncle for allowing her to work so much around the house.
Yoma’s goal is to one day become head of the local ninja police so he can keep everyone in the village safe.
